Imagine that you are a traveler preparing to embark on a journey. You must first choose your destination. You then need to determine how to reach it. You may have many options, each with its own benefits and pitfalls. Since it’s your journey, you are ultimately the only one responsible for its success or failure, so you need to make your choices carefully, honestly, and thoughtfully. You might decide to ask someone who has made similar journeys or who understands the factors related to travel, to help you formulate a travel plan and guide you on your journey. We are all presented with a journey called life. It is up to us to choose our own destinations and device our own travel plans and itineraries. This is no small task.
To determine our destination we must ask ourselves:
1. What is my purpose in life?
2. What am I passionate about?
3. How can I balance practical concerns with personal fulfillment?
4. What is my ideal vision of myself?
5. What would I like my life to look like now, in 5, 10, 20 years?
To formulate our travel plan we must ask ourselves:
1. How determined am I to make changes in my life?
2. What are the steps, small and large, I need to take to reach my destination?
